Which Tracking Number Do I Need?

Every courier calls its number something different. Use the number printed on the booking receipt or sent in your shipping SMS, not the shop’s order ID.

Tip: if a courier’s page says “invalid number”, you have usually entered the marketplace order ID. Look for the AWB in the shipping SMS instead.

Courier Tracking Status Meanings

What each update on your tracking page actually means.

Booked / Manifested

A label has been created. The parcel may not have been picked up yet.

Pending pickup

Booked, but the courier has not collected the parcel from the sender.

In transit

Moving between hubs. Long gaps between scans are normal on long routes.

Reached hub

At a sorting centre, waiting to go on the next vehicle.

Out for delivery

With the delivery agent. Usually delivered the same day.

Delivered

Handed over at the address. If you did not get it, check with neighbours or security first.

Delivery attempted

The agent could not deliver (no one home, wrong address, no access). A re-attempt usually follows.

RTO – Return to origin

Going back to the sender after failed attempts or a cancellation.

Held at customs

International parcel under customs review; documents or duty may be needed.

Troubleshooting

Tracking Not Working? Quick Fixes

“Number not found”

New bookings often take 4–12 hours to show online. Wait a few hours, then try again.

“Invalid number”

Check for typos and spaces, and use the courier’s number, not the shop’s order ID.

Status not updating

24–48 hours without a scan is common between hubs, on Sundays and on holidays.

Stuck for 5+ days

Call the courier’s customer care or the booking branch with your number and booking date.

“Delivered” but not received

Ask family, neighbours or building security, then raise a complaint with the courier quoting the number.

Wrong courier selected

If the official page finds nothing, the parcel may be with a different courier. Check your SMS again.

When a Courier Has No Online Tracking

How do I track my courier with a tracking number?

Enter the number in the box at the top of this page, choose your courier and press the button. The courier’s official tracking page opens with your number copied, so you just paste it to see the live status.

Does this site show my parcel status?

We send you to the courier’s own page, which shows the live, real-time status. We never generate, estimate or store tracking statuses ourselves.

What is an AWB number?

AWB means Air Waybill. It is the unique number a courier gives a shipment at booking. Blue Dart, Delhivery and most express couriers call their tracking number the AWB.

Tracking number vs consignment number?

They are the same thing with different names. India Post says article number, DTDC says consignment number, Delhivery says waybill, and surface carriers like VRL say LR or docket number.

Which courier is my parcel with?

Check the shipping SMS or email, or the order details in the shopping app. Online orders often name the courier next to the AWB.

Why is my courier tracking not updating?

Parcels are only scanned at hubs, so there can be no update while they travel between cities. If nothing changes for 5 working days, contact the courier.

How long does courier delivery take in India?

Within a city it is usually 1–2 days, and between states 3–5 working days for express services. Surface, cargo and remote pin codes can take longer.

What does RTO mean in tracking?

RTO means Return to Origin: the parcel is going back to the sender, usually after failed delivery attempts, a wrong address, or a cancellation.
